Nasty!

One week ago. Just one week ago I was backing out of my driveway in tears, completely convinced I wouldn’t have a home to come back to. I was very fortunate with only some damage to my beautiful Live Oak and of course no power. Today I went home to clean out the fridge and freezer. Wow. Aromatic isn’t the word. So many garbage bags later it’s all out of the house and things are sanitized.  When in doubt, throw it out!

Just look at all the posts on social media with people searching for the basics like water. Right now it’s long lines, empty shelves and a lot of people wishing they could wish Hurricane Irma away. Don’t we all. But please take time to double check that prep list. Pumpkin, Pumpkin Everywhere…

While you’re going over that hurricane supply list, how about a little diversion for a minute or two? It’s heeeeeeere! Pumpkin spice has arrived just about everywhere you look.

Starbucks has made it an event with, get this, hatching the first one. You can watch the stream live. Whipped cream NEVER optional. By the way they’re also selling the mix in stores. Not to be outdone Dunkin’ Donuts has a full lineup of all things pumpkin and they’re also making a game out of it.

How many times have we said it? No matter what the predictions for the hurricane season are, it only takes one. One historic, catastrophic storm like Harvey. The record-breaking rains continue to decimate the state but there is a way you can help. Lower Prices At Whole Foods?

Amazon bought Whole Foods. That much we know. But now, we know a lot more. Starting Monday Amazon has promised to lower prices and give special savings and in-store benefits to Amazon Prime members. I happen to be one of those and I haven’t shopped at Whole Foods in some time. Like you, I thought things were overpriced and since there are many competitors with lower prices that’s where I’ve been going. Save the chickens! One farmer in Scotland’s flock likes to cross the road…a lot. So now they’re wearing reflective safety vests. Really! They’re live at a  Bed & Breakfast and the owners love their fresh eggs and wanted to keep them safe. Now guess how many people are booking rooms just to see why the chickens cross the road. It’s a real pleasure to add House to Home on McMullen Booth in Clearwater to the Ann Kelly’s Kitchen Collection this month. Cheetos Pops Up; Krispy Kreme Goes Dark

For two days only! And honestly, that’s enough – celeb chef Anne Burrell is going to open a pop-up restaurant featuring a three course menu with Cheeto-inspired dishes.
