Just steps away from Busch Gardens and the rest of the world off North 46th St I took a step back in time to the 16th century and a meeting with Queen Catherine Parr at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival. The Festival opens this weekend – February 18th – and will be open weekends through April 2nd. Those weekends have fun themes like Chocolate Fantasy in Piper’s Valley, the Barbarian Brewfest, and since it’s Tampa you have to include our favorite scalawags – Pirates! Celebrate Craft Beer Day

Not that we need a reason to enjoy a fine craft brew, but when a mayoral proclamation is involved it’s a necessity. This Wednesday is Florida’s second annual official Craft Beer Day and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn made it official with a proclamation issued at the beginning of the month.
