Let me start off this rosy edition of Ann Kelly’s Kitchen by saying just how much fun I had speaking with Jennifer Simonetti-Bryan, author of “Rose’ Wine – The Guide To Drinking Pink.” Honestly, I might have thought the exact opposite. This is a woman with serious credentials in the wine world. Jennifer is only the fourth woman in American to attain the international title as Master of Wine and is the winner of the 2008 Tasting Trophy from the Institute of Masters of Wine. She calls LA home and maintains a busy life judging major wine and spirits competitions. But let’s bring it down to our chat about what she called ‘the Rodney Dangerfield of wine – rose’.
We’ve already hit the hot weather and a rose’ is appearing on more and more menus around the Bay as a perfect choice for just about anything on the menu. But it’s the history of rose’, how and where it’s made that’s intriguing. But just in case you need a primer in pink, this book is for you. You can even take the quiz that helps you make the right choice and Jennifer’s “Wine Wheel” is fun and informative.
