One visit to MadFish on St. Pete Beach, just to the south of Tradewinds will convince you this is NOT the MadFish you knew some time ago. Chef Oliver has taken over along with his sister and the menu is nothing short of a foodie fantasy. I’ve dined there twice and can’t get over the freshness of the Blue Point Oysters that come with a Watermelon Mignette that takes a simple to dish another level. Another favorite has to be the Sea Bass that is prepared with perfectly crisp skin – and do make sure you ask to have that served with the Garlic Risotto. And if you just have to have steak, have a special cut. Like the Beef Wellington with sautéed potatoes, baby bok choi, snow peach and the crowning touch of the peach and chili salsa. It’s exactly touches like that which make MadFish so much more than just another restaurant. Oh, and you’ll love the location. A fantastic diner style building and inside the elegant décor creates a comfortable atmosphere. Well worth making a reservation, but if you’d like to just drop by for a drink and appetizers you’ll love those as well. Don’t leave without having the Seasoned Scallops that are seared with chorizo and served with an a la grecque salad and feta cheese. Oh, and don’t forget dessert!
The generosity of MadFish will be on display at the March of Dimes Signature Chef’s Auction at TPepin Hospitality Center in Tampa Thursday, October 26th. Chef Oliver’s sister Ella created a lovely gift basket complete with champagne, flutes and a $100 gift card for Mad Fish ! Now that’s something you should treat yourself to, and we’ll also treat you to a night out with the Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker. For more information on the event click here, and I’ll see you for the silent auction and the gift basket.
MadFish is on St Pete Beach, south of the Tradewinds. Take a peek at the menu and more here, and we’ll see you soon at the beach where dessert comes complete with a great sunset.
