Finally, we have winner, and a delicious new name for the new chocolate beer from Big Storm Brewing in collaboration with William Dean Chocolates. There were an impressive number of entries, nearly 500. But our winner comes from Sherry Olson of Winter Haven, FL. Cocoa Convergence is the winner, and this is how Sherry came up with the award winner – “The name has two parts, the first being the obvious Cocoa from William Dean’s chocolates, followed by Convergence which means to unify or a place where air or water meets. I thought the names were a perfect blending of [More]

Oh, I so get it. If this is your first Thanksgiving dinner that you’ll be doing all the cooking for, it can be slightly panic inducing. But fear not, here in Ann Kelly’s Kitchen we’re getting a little help from the experts at Butterball. That means everything from making sure it’s thawed safely, cooking, carving, to stuff or not to stuff and what to do with those leftovers.

Just walk in the door at William Dean Chocolates in Belleair Bluffs and inhale that intoxicating chocolate aroma. Toto, we’re home! Think of this as Halloween all year long for the big kids – hand crafted artisanal chocolates, gelato, decadent chocolate bars and the artists hard at work in the kitchen just behind the counter. That is the William Dean Chocolates experience that has now grown to include a marriage made in calorie heaven – William Dean Chocolates and Big Storm Brewery teaming up to create a chocolate beer.
But what is a beer without a name? Still delicious, [More]

One visit to MadFish on St. Pete Beach, just to the south of Tradewinds will convince you this is NOT the MadFish you knew some time ago. Chef Oliver has taken over along with his sister and the menu is nothing short of a foodie fantasy. I’ve dined there twice and can’t get over the freshness of the Blue Point Oysters that come with a Watermelon Mignette that takes a simple to dish another level. Another favorite has to be the Sea Bass that is prepared with perfectly crisp skin – and do make sure you ask to have that served [More]

What is more iconic than taking that box of crispy rice cereal, adding melted butter and marshmallows and enjoying a bar or two? But in Jessica Siskin’s new book “Treat Yourself!” she gives us 93 wonderfully gooey, sweet ways to make more than just the usual rectangular treat. Think robots, your favorite emoji or even a replica of the Eiffel Tower or a cherry pie! It’s fun to create with the kids, and the big kids can get in on the action, too. I’d love to do a game night and let everyone make their own fun, no-bake treats. [More]
