Get Rid of the Romaine

Hello all! A few items to catch up on in Ann Kelly’s Kitchen. Some nasty things you don’t want in your fridge start us off. Romaine lettuce is under recall that may have contributed to an EColi outbreak. It was grown out in Arizona, and has NOT been shipped to Florida. But this is a good one to pass along and make sure your friends and family get rid of it right away. Find something else for the BLT for now.

Are secret menus just an urban legend or just something plain cool to discover? Probably both, but I can tell you about Wawa’s which is actually not all that hard to find. It’s right on the ordering screen! Take a look exactly where to click and have fun. Oh, and it’s not going to be around forever; it’s a part of their birthday celebration and includes a – wait for it – birthday cake smoothie. Spanx not included due to overindulgence.

Talk about a bad egg. Like, a lot of them. More than 200 million eggs are under recall by the FDA that may be contaminated with salmonella. There’s already been 22 people reported sick.  The eggs are from Rose Acres Farms in Indiana and were distributed to a number of states that include Florida. Check here to see if you may have some in the fridge.

You’ll also want to get rid of the Banquet Salisbury Steak dinners you may have stashed in the freezer. What’s the problem? Possible bone fragments. So not good. There’s already been a few reports of what they call “oral problems.” Here’s what you need to know.

Not into steak of any kind? So where do you get your protein if you’re living a vegetarian lifestyle. Quite a few places and there’s a good chance you’re already enjoying a number of them in your diet already.
