It’s not every day that I walk into a PDQ and find pro wrestler Titus O’Neil working the grill. But making a stop at the PDQ on Waters in Tampa for the launch of their special sandwich, the 4 Rivers Smokehouse Sandwich, was a good enough reason, and Titus was on hand to lend a little help. And eat a lot.PDQ and 4 Rivers Smokehouse have created a delicious treat that will benefit the 4R Foundation. What you find on that brioche bun is special; take one of their signature never-frozen, 100 per cent natural chicken breasts that is dipped in beautiful blend of the 4Rivers Signature Sauces and top that off with pepper jack cheese and Pederson’s all-natural cherry smoked bacon. Then there’s more on top of that. A fresh avocado herb sauce and shredded cabbage. Nicely done! Oh, and if you’re in the mood for a Cheerwine, go for it. But those shakes, oh please give them a try. They’re hand-spun, thick and oh so good.
Now I can’t guarantee that Titus will be in the house when you drop by, but I did have a chance to say hello to a fellow foodie friend. Carlos and I follow each other on line and it was nice to meet in person.
Stop in at any of the 19 PDQ locations through October to give the 4 Rivers Smokehouse Sandwich a try and be sure to grab extra napkins. And some fries…and a shake…
