Let’s see what we have to look forward to in Ann Kelly’s Kitchen. Dessert is a must -Monday is National Pie Day! The National Pie Council can tell you everything you ever needed to know about pie and more, but what about specials for today? Goody Goody™ let it slip over the weekend what they’ll be up to with a special version of their beloved Butterscotch pie available for just one week starting on of course National Pie Day. Good Goody Burgers at the corner of Swann and Dakota in Hyde Park will serve a version of the original recipe used for decades by Yvonne Freeman. Yvonne started as a car hop back in 1940, retiring when the restaurant closed in 2005. But you’ll have the chance to say hello again when Yvonne visits Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Goody Goody™.
When it comes to my favorite pie, I have to go with cherry. Just LOVE that, followed by a warm slice of apple with a nice melting scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. But I will admit when I had my first slice of Butterscotch pie as a member of the Goody Goody™ tasting team I was an immediate convert. I’m sure you have a favorite so why not tell us in the poll below?
The best of the best will be competing in Orlando this May at the APC National Pie Championships and it’s not just for the pros. Think you have the next great pie idea?
